Want to find it on the map? Start at the top
of the Bordeaux peninsula. Follow the Gironde upstream until just after Margaux
where it splits into the Garonne and the Dordogne - follow the Garonne south
through Graves. Once the Garonne turns to run east-west with the "Canal du midi"
running parallel, the southern bank has the towns of Damazan, Nerac, and of
course Buzet. To be honest - our trip to Buzet was quite bizarre. We'd just spent two days unable to find anywhere open thanks to a bank holiday weekend. We were just getting to grips with everything closing for a long lunch and restaurants being very busy at lunchtime as locals popped in for a half carafe and 4 courses! When in Rome etc etc... We had a fantastic meal in Buzet and our trip to the shop of the Wine Growers Co-Operative was almost unnecessary! Never the less we bought a couple of nice bottles for the cellar, and made a resolution to start digging a cellar when we got home! MORE INFO REGARDING THE BUZET WINE REGION TO FOLLOW SOON |
